Music to Our Ears: Lots of Live Entertainment during Solvang Danish Days

From folk music to jazz, to accordion players, to classic rock — Solvang Danish Days has you covered. The three, festive “Danish Days”, September 20-22, 2019, will feature live music performances throughout downtown Solvang, plus a very special, Saturday afternoon pipe organ concert just a few blocks from the center of town. Best part? Most of the Solvang Danish Days entertainment is FREE!

For your listening pleasure, here are the scheduled musical events for this year’s Danish Days weekend:

Friday, September 20

4:00pmFree Concert in Solvang Park: T-Bone Ramblers perform live in the Solvang Park Gazebo, Mission Drive and First Street.

8:30pm — The Great Danes from Fresno, accompanied by the Fresno & Solvang Danish Dancers, in the Midgaard Pavilion in Parking Lot 2, in downtown Solvang, adjacent to the Danish Days Viking Beer & Wine Garden.

Saturday, September 21

10:15am — Fresno Danish Dancers with The Great Danes, in the Midgaard Pavilion.

12:15pm — The SYV Youth Jazz Band, under the direction of Kay Dominguez, in the Midgaard Pavilion.

1:00pmDanish Days Organ Concert: World-renowned concert organist, James Welch, is “Bach” to entertain guests with the “lighter side” of the organ, in his Danish Days concert featuring a mix of lively tunes from across the centuries, folk melodies, and hits from Baroque to Broadway. Don’t miss this year’s concert on the Phelps pipe organ at Bethania Lutheran Church, 603 Atterdag Road (suggested $5.00 donation for concert).

3:00pm-9:00pmFREE Concert Line-Up: Featuring live bands performing on the Midgaard Pavilion Stage in Parking Lot 2, in downtown Solvang, adjacent to the Danish Days Viking Beer & Wine Garden. All ages welcome; must be 21 years or older to enter Viking Beer & Wine Garden. Concerts are free and open to the public!

3:00pm – 6:00pm: Low Down Dudes
6:00pm – 9:00pm: Danish Playboys Revisited {Richard Diaz and Band}

Sunday, September 22

10:00am — Fresno Danish Dancers with The Great Danes, in the Midgaard Pavilion.

1:00pm — The Great Danes, in the Solvang Park Gazebo.
