On Friday, January 6, 2023, at the close of Solvang Julefest, 2022 Solvang Danish Days Maid, Aleena Madrid, drew the winning ticket in front of The Home Connection, for the 2022 “Win a Trip for Two to Denmark” raffle: the winner is…Elizabeth Crespo from Goleta, California. Congratulations, Elizabeth!
One of the highlights of each year’s Solvang Danish Days is the chance for Solvang locals and visitors to win the trip for two to Denmark. Each year, two round-trip tickets are sponsored by the Solvang Danish Days Foundation; included in this Grand Prize is $1,000.00 in spending money. Many businesses throughout Solvang offer the tickets for sale in their stores, and proceeds of the raffle ticket sales support the annual Solvang Danish Days Festival.
Tickets may also be purchased by mail by writing to the Solvang Danish Days Foundation: P.O. Box 1424, Solvang, CA 93464-1424. Tickets are also sold on-site near the Solvang Danish Days Old World Artisans Marketplace, during the event weekend.
The raffle drawing date was more traditionally in October, following each year’s Solvang Danish Days event. For 2022’s raffle drawing, Danish Days organizers decided to give raffle ticket buyers more time to purchase their tickets, and chose the new drawing date of January 6, 2023. Danish Days completed its 85th annual celebration Friday through Sunday, September 16 through 18, 2022.
