Only @ Danish Days: Organist James Welch in Concert {Sat., Sept. 15}

Danish Days Organ Concert ~ Saturday, September 15, 1:00 PM

James Welch Pulls Out All the Stops!

Favorite festival organist, James Welch, is “Bach” by popular demand for this year’s Danish Days celebration, playing on the authentic pipe organ at Bethania Lutheran Church on Saturday, September 15, at 1:00 PM.

James Welch - Danish Days Organ ConcertA world-renowned concert organist, Welch’s concerts are always full of fun, with something for everyone – from the baroque to the contemporary, from Old World to California. And yes, there will be some “Bach”, too! A direct descendant of Danes from Fjenneslev, Denmark (his grandmother was a Sorensen), Welch credits his love of music to his Danish ancestors.

This year, Welch will be joined on the program by his son Nicholas, who is a dynamite pianist and organist. Guests will leave this concert tapping their toes, ready for the big Danish Days Parade!

Don’t miss this year’s concert on the Phelps pipe organ at the historic Bethania Lutheran Church, 603 Atterdag Road (suggested $5.00 donation for concert; early arrival recommended, as this event is often standing room-only).
